The other two golden ABCa#39;s are acrostic poems. An acrostic poem is one in which each stanza begins with a successive letter of the alphabet. The first verse opens with a word beginning with an A, the second with B, and so on through every, or nearly every, letter of the alphabet. This poetic scheme was used already in biblical times, for Psalm 119 is an acrostic as it appears in the original Hebrew of the Old Testament.
