Nominon - Terra Necrosis. Full-length on Ibex Moon Records.
Nominon comes from the Swedish underground. And you guessed it play Swedish style Death Metal. The bands biggest influences on this release seem to be (old) Unleashed, (old) Dismember, and maybe the 1st Grave release. The bands music is not bad but it is almost identical to the bands I just mentioned. Maybe if they can work on some new material/riffs the next one will be better. Until then they are just another clone band. Review by: Patrick Schroeder.
I have been waiting for this album, I really like their second album "Recremation" and this is even better. Nominon is a Swedish Death Metal five-piece that has been around since the early nineties, a band that has remained true to the underground that spawned them. Like I hinted at before, his is their third full-length, they have also released a bunch of demos, EPs and one split and one compilation. The music on this album is, to put it as blunt as humanly possible, Swedish Death Metal. Old school and brutal as fuck. They started in 1993 and by listening to the music you can definitely tell. Much inspiration has been drawn from the early Swedish Death Metal scene. The album basically consists of frantic and technical drumming, down-tuned aggression, short and intense solos, pronounced and harsh growls. If you have their previous album "Recremation" you know what you can expect, although this feels a bit more brutal then their last album, and also darker. Once again the album was recorded, mixed and mastered at Necromorbus Studio with Tore Stjerna so you know the sound is as dark as it can be. A great fucking album, for all old school Death Metal madmen. |
