On the Edge of the Netherrealm - Different Realms. Full-length on Bad Mood Man Music.
This is the debut solo full-length album from Vladimir Andreev, the guitarist of Otkroveniya Dozhdya (Revelations of Rain), although he has hired one Sethaye to take care of the vocal duties on the album. The music is a combination of Death/Doom Metal and dark semi-Gothic Metal with a lot of solos and melodic work. The music is mostly mid-paced to slow, guitar driven, although there are quite a few passages that are keyboard driven. A lot of heavy riffing, but even more melodic riffing and, as I previously mentioned a lot of solos work. The music is at times quite catchy but still dark and gloomy. I must say that Vladimir Andreev really knows how to arrange this type of music, there are a lot of small twists and turns in the music that helps accentuate the already melancholic feeling of this album. This is a really well crafted piece of darkness. I think all that enjoys spending autumn nights listening to dark and melancholic Death/Doom Metal will like this album. |
